Who’s A Christian?
Rev. Dr. Richard Walenta
Dr. Walenta is currently a Lecturer at the Windward Community College in the
Department of Humanities. He teaches “Under-standing the New Testament” and
“Introduction to World Religions”. He will share his collection and sorting of
the many different perceptions of “What is a Christian”.
Richard is an ordained Presbyterian minister. He was formerly the Pastor of the
Windward Church of Christ. He has spent the past 18 years working with Kahumana
Community Center, a project to help homeless in Waianae. Their focus is on the
housing, educating, training and care of homeless families with small children
who are forced onto our beaches or into overcrowded and inadequate dwellings.
Richard and his wife Ann are active members of Christ Church Uniting
Presbyterians and Disciples in Kailua. Richard shared that he conducted services
at Pohai Nani many years ago.
We welcome him back to Pohai Nani. Open Discussion.
