My Faith Journey
with Rev. Elden Buck

Rev. Elden Buck in a large dining roomElden was ordained in both the Disciples of Christ and United Church of Christ denominations. He and his wife served as missionaries to Micronesia for 25 years. During this time Elden wrote a book, Island of Angels, a history of the church in Eastern Micronesia.

The family came to Hawaii in 1981. Elden served 18 years pastoring UCC churches in Honolulu and Hilo.

Elden’s father was a pastor as well as daughter Lauren, who is now serving as chaplain at Punahou School. His daughter Lisa married a Disciples pastor. Elden says his family is well “pastorized.” Elden is a recent resident of Pohai Nani.

Elden’s purpose and mission in life is to “Share Joy.” All are welcome.
